THAI MASSAGE
What is Thai Massage?
Thai massage is a full-body, clothed massage that includes the use of a variety of stretching, trigger-point, and movement techniques. Thai massage is performed on a large, padded floor mat, and techniques are adjusted to the client’s comfort level and movement capacity.
Thai massage therapy helps patients relax, alleviate pain, and improve mobility. Overall, it can be part of personal self-care to manage stress, fatigue, anxiety and depression. Regular massage promotes overall health and wellness.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW IS THAI MASSAGE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TYPES?
No oil is required in a Thai massage, so you may remain fully clothed. Rather than just using hands, fists, forearms and elbows, a Thai massage therapist may use legs and feet during the massage, so the floor mat allows for this flexibility.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so we can review your health history and treatment goals.
Massage Therapy is most effective when clients feel comfortable in the environment, are well-rested, and hydrated.
IS THAI MASSAGE COVERED UNDER MOST HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES?
Some insurance companies with flexible health care plans may be able to cover Thai Massage. Although she is certified in Thai Massage, Emily is not an RMT. It's best to consult with your insurance provider.
